STARTING UNDER SADDLE....

A good solid foundation is the key to success for any horse/rider combination.  That foundation begins here, at Los Piños Equestrian Center.  Horses brought to be started under saddle will be assessed to evaluate their knowledge and personalities.  Ground work and round pen training are just two of the tools used to start horses here. Normally we will not accept any colt to start under saddle for less than 60 days, and we prefer 90 days, but exceptions will be made for previous clients and established horsemen.  If you have questions about this policy, feel free to ask.   All of the horses we start under saddle are started in an O-ring snaffle bit, and will probably remain in that bit for training, unless the owner requests otherwise. 

CUTTING TRAINING:

Cutting at the competitive level is an aspect of the equine world that we are passionate about, and we love sharing that passion with others.  From developing a prospect, to helping you show that finished cutter in the open class, SS Cutting Horses can help you realize your cutting dreams!  As with all horses in training at LPEC, fees include a free weekly lesson for owner/rider as well as full care board.  Additional lessons for owners who have a horse in training with Scott are offered at discounted rates. 

ADDITIONAL TRAINING SERVICES:

We can also re-work that problem horse, tune up that show horse, or just put a finishing touch on our pleasure horse for you!  LPEC offers a wide variety of training services.  All horses here in training are provided full care board, and all owner/riders are given a free weekly lesson while their horse is here in training.  Normally we work in 30 day increments, but a 15 day session can be available under the right circumstances.  All "Problem Horses" will be given a 7-day assessment for a $100 fee, which is then applied to training rates.  Los Piños Equestrian Center may also require a certified vet exam within the first 7 days of training, should the trainer feel that any behavioral problems are possible pain-induced.  This exam will be at the owner's expense. For show-tune up horses, show coaching is also included in training fees ( not to exceed 2 shows per month). And for pre-sale conditioning, intense grooming is also included in your training fees.
