We would like to introduce you to Julie DeMuesy and DreamCatchers Equine Rescue. Their website is www.dcerinc.com - but don`t be fooled, they have a lot more horses available than listed on the website.
We were first introduced to DreamCatchers when they visited us and picked up a mustang mare that had become too much for her owner. Later, one of our boarders visited with them at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo when they demoed an extremely well trained Peruvian Paso. This boarder later adopted a gorgeous, registered arab gelding named Santana.
When it became time for another boarder to move up to a more challenging horse we took a trip out to DreamCatchers. I was really impressed and amazed! They had 130 horses at the time! Really, there was a horse there for just about anyone. Ponies, mini`s, Thoroughbreds, well trained Quarter Horses and Arabs, gaited horses.
The goal was to just look for a Quarter Horse type for our boarder. She found an adorable pinto pony that just needs a little work to get past the typical "spoiled little pony" syndrome, all work that will be great for the education the boarder wants to gain for herself. And I, already owning 14 horses and under strict orders not to look at any of them, had to adopt the perfect 8yo Polish Arab gelding that hadn`t been ridden.
When we went to pick these two horses up, we took along a large group of boarders and friends to see what was available. One family ended up getting a very gentle arab gelding and a gaited mare. A friend, now become a boarder, picked up a mini donkey (which she plans on training to drive for her planned theraputic riding facility) and an extremely well put together 2yo registered QH mare.
DreamCatchers, of course, is at the mercy of donations and outside support to keep such a large number of horses cared for. Many of their horses have not been starved or abused in any way, just surrendered by their owners who can no longer care for them. But there are some horses that they are working very hard to rehabilitate either mentally, physically or both.
Julie and her family are very familiar with every horse on the property. If you are looking for a horse, tell her what you need and she will do her best to match you up with the perfect horse for you. If you aren`t looking for a horse, but still want to support these wonderful people, they have horses available for sponsorship as well. Julie can be contacted at 719-232-7365 or Julie@DCERInc.com.
Here are some pictures of some of the horses at Los Pinos adopted from DreamCatchers Equine Rescue.

Annie is a 2yo registered QH mare. She was bottle fed and followed us all over the pasture til we decided someone had to take her home! |

Bahzra is an 8yo Polish Arab gelding and I expect a great endurance career from him. Ozzy is a very cute black and white pinto pony who just stole Beth`s heart as soon as she saw him! |

Daisy is a 6 month old mini donkey. She has quite the voice, but she only uses it to say Hi and feed me! She is very sweet and shares a stall with a miniature horse named Buddy in the barn. |

Santana is a gorgeous arab gelding with a long flowing tail and mane. Before he was gelded, Santana was a AHA nominated sire. |
